Evan is 5 months!

Evan turned 5 months on Saturday.  Time is going by so quickly with three kids and sometimes I wish it would slow down a little.  Evan is definitely our little man and we all are loving every day with him.

*Evan is still not a great sleeper.  He likes to take cat naps throughout the day and still wakes up about 3 times a night.  He does go to bed really easy and most nights that is around 7:30.

*He still loves his feet and is really into kicking.  He is also kicking his legs so much he goes in circles when he is laying.

*Evan rolled over this month.  He still only is rolling from back to tummy but really has gotten the hang of it.

*He tried cereal for the first time this past month.  He doesn't quite have the tongue and spoon figured out but he seemed to like it a little.

*Evan is really into blowing raspberries and drools a lot! :)

*Evan has started babbling a lot.  He seems to have a lot to say and his sisters better watch out.

* He loves his sisters and they love to hold him and play with him.

*Evan likes to swing in short periods in his baby swing on the new swing set.

We love you Evan and we are looking forward to the next month with you!

Sorry I have not been very good with keeping up with the blog.  Having three very busy kids doesn't leave me much time to get pictures onto the computer.  I have also been really bad about taking pictures.  I am hoping to do a little better with pictures though.  Here are some pictures from the last month or so of our lives.

4 Months

Forgot to take picture will take tomorrow. :)

Evan is 4 months old today!  He is such a joy to our family and we are loving every minute with him.

*Evan is sleeping better.  He still gets up 1-2 times during the night but usually falls back to sleep once he eats a little.
*His new scream is a very high pitch scream.  When he really gets mad he gets pretty high.  Let me tell you waking up to this is not cute, luckily Evan is cute. :)
*Evan still eats every 2-3 hours during the day.
*Evan found his feet this past month.  He loves to grab at them and put them in his mouth.
*He loves to grab at things and loves to pull on mommy's hair.  He also is pretty good at pinching you too.
*Evan is getting closer to rolling over.  He gets up on his side but doesn't quite get all the way over yet.
*Evan loves his big sisters.  He will give them big smiles and laughs for Elia.  He even puts up with Emma constantly poking and going at him.

Evan has his 4 month check-up next week.  I will update his stats then.

3 Months

2 Months

Evan is 2 months! Time sure is flying by quickly and this month was a busy month for Evan.

*Evan had his first ER/Hospital stay. He was diagnosed with RSV/Bronchiolitis. He was in the hospital for 5 days. He is doing amazing now!

*Evan weighs 10 lbs 5 ozs and is 23 inches long. He is still our little peanut but he is growing great!

*Evan is not a great sleeper. He is up usually every 2-3 hours still. He has had some 4-5 hour nights. Hopefully more of the long nights will come soon. Since being in the hospital his sleeping has really been off. The only place that he will sleep is in his swing.

*Evan is smiling and cooing a lot. He loves to look in the mirror and when he sees himself he gets a huge smile.

*He is really starting to grab at things. He loves to grab and pull hair and his big sisters are not fans of this. :)

This was a fun month with Evan and we cannot wait to see what this next month brings for Evan.

1 Month

Evan is one month old today! This last month has gone by so quickly and Evan is growing and changing everyday.

*Evan loves to snuggle. He likes to cuddle up to mommy and daddy's chest and fall asleep.

*Evan loves to grunt. He makes these noises all day long and it is very cute!

*Sleep is still not great but the last few nights Evan has gone 3-3.5 hours between feedings.

*He is still eating pretty much every 2 hours during the day.

*Evan has started grabbing at things. Lately it has been my hair but he also has grabbed at his monkey on his bouncy seat.

* He loves to watch his sisters and when Elia sings to him he usually quiets down.

IT"S A BOY!!!

On January 16th at 8:42 P.M. we welcomed Evan Nicholas Bronson into the world. He weighed 7lbs 4ozs and 20.5 inches long. He is perfect in every way and we are so excited to have a little boy.

I had went to the doctor that morning for my weekly check and I had told the doctor I was having more pressure and the day before had felt a little crampy. We decided to check to see where I was dilation wise. I was dilated to a 3 and 70% effaced. She said that it may be sooner than I think when we welcome our little one. The girls and I went grocery shopping in the afternoon and I was starting to have some contractions. There were a couple in the store that I needed to breath through. I called Jeff as we were leaving to let him know that contractions were coming. I told him not to come home yet but be prepared. As the afternoon went on and we got into the evening contractions were still coming and starting to be more painful. Jeff got home from work and told me I should probably call the hospital. I was not quite convinced yet but I was starting to really work through the contractions. I told Jeff to eat dinner with the girls and I was going to time the contractions a little longer and then call. They were getting closer and stronger so I called into the hospital. She told me to come in because my doctor had in my notes that I come with any contractions. So I finished packing up my bag and Jeff got the girls packed up. We dropped Elia and Emma off at our friends and we were off to the hospital. I think we hit every red light possible but we finally made it to the hospital. They took my into a triage room right away and checked where I was and I was dilated to 8 and about 80-90% effaced. I was having this baby! So I moved into a room. They asked about an epidural or pain medicine but I said I wanted to try without. The doctor insisted that before she broke my water that I get an IV just in case I changed my mind about meds. Well getting an IV into me is not easy and not fun when I was having contractions. After about 4 attempts they finally got one in and then I pushed a little and my water broke on its own (yes right after they got the IV into me). The doctor said I could push with each contraction and after a couple Evan was born. It was another fast delivery (Evan was born about an hour after arriving at the hospital). I am so thankful for quick deliveries. Jeff was able to talk to Elia that night and she was so excited to hear she had a baby brother. The girls came up with Grandma Bronson the next day and they were both in love with their little brother. Evan is lucky to have two loving big sisters.

Things are going pretty good with being home. We are all adjusting to a family of five and a newborn who right now eats every 2 hours. We are loving our little man and our family of five!

38 week appointment

I was to the doctor's this morning for my weekly check. Things are still going well with baby and I. The girls and I heard the heartbeat but I don't remember if she told me the range. I decided to get checked because I have been having a lot of pressure and some cramping. I am dilated to a 3 and 70% effaced. She seems pretty confident that the baby is going to be coming soon. She advised me once I start having contractions to make sure I am calling triage. We do not want to be having this baby at home or in the car. I love the special bond I have while pregnant but I am ready to meet our new little one. We will see what happens and I will make sure to keep everyone updated. If no action I will be back to the doctor next Monday.

Baby Update: 37 weeks

We have made it to "full-term" now with the baby. I was to the doctor on Tuesday and everything seems to be going well. The baby's heart rate was still in the 150's which has been consistent the whole pregnancy. I am still leaning towards girl but there is a small feeling of boy. I asked the doctor if she had an estimate as to how big the baby was right now and she said around 6 lbs. She thinks the baby is going to be close in size to the girls (Elia was 8lbs 10oz and Emma was 8lbs 3oz). She said it will all depend on when the baby decides to come. I have not been checked yet but may at my next appointment on Monday. I had my Group B Strep test last appointment and that came back negative. Not much else to report on the baby. Lots of movement lately at night time. The last few nights I think the baby has been having a dance party. It feels so funny but I know I will miss it once the baby arrives. The girls are getting excited for the baby to get here. Elia asked tonight if she could be the first one to hold the baby. Daddy informed her that mommy or daddy will be the first but as soon as she gets to the hospital she can hold the baby.
