Elia Update :)

Elia was to her orthopedic doctor yesterday for a follow-up now that she has her braces. Dr. Craig said everything is fine but he would like Elia to try and wear her braces most of the day. She had been doing pretty good about wearing them but after a little while she always wants to take them off(I don't really blame her though). She has even been wearing them at school. I am really proud of how well she actually has been doing with them. Now that Dr. Craig told her she needs to wear them longer each day she seems to be okay with it. She still is walking on her tiptoes when out of the braces but it only has been a little over a month. With the braces she is reteaching her feet to walk heel to toe. Hopefully we will start seeing an improvement so that she can have them off by the time warm weather comes. She has to go back in 4 months for another follow-up.

15 Months and more

Emma had her 15 month appointment today and she is doing great! She is still a tall girl like her big sister. The stats are 32.48 inches (97 %), 22lbs 7ozs. (47%) and head is 18.74 inches (92%). It is so funny that she has a bigger head than most kids her age because her head seems so little to me. :) I also think it is funny that she is right in the middle weight wise because the girl likes to eat. I am not sure where all of the food goes but the doctor said she is growing great. The only new thing is Emma needs to start taking a multi-vitamin because like big sister she is not a milk drinker. I don't know what it is but our girls just do not like milk. Luckily, they both love cheese and yogurt so they are making up for some of the loss. She did receive 3 shots and let the nurse know she was not a fan. Luckily after some comforting for mommy she was all better. Emma will be back to the doctor in April for her 18 month appointment and she sees the orthopedic doctor in February.

Elia has her 4 year appointment at the end of the month and I am really excited to see where she is at growth wise. She also will be seeing the orthopedic doctor at the end of the month. She has been doing pretty good wearing her braces but still is not a big fan. Once they are on she has no problem but getting them on her is the struggle. Hopefully they will help her and she will not have to wear them too long.

I know I have been horrible about updating the blog. A lot has been going on and the family has been battling illnesses. Emma got the stomach bug on Thursday before Christmas, I had it Christmas Eve, Jeff got it on Christmas and then Elia got it the following Thursday. Now we are all fighting a cold. Hopefully this will be it for the winter. I will try hard to update more but I will not make any promises. :)
