Two and a Half Already?!?!?!

I am still in amazement that Elia turned 2 1/2 this week. Wow, has the time really flown by. She is no longer my little baby girl but she is a big girl. She has grown and accomplished so much in her short little time, she really amazes us every day. She now knows how to spell her name and can pick out her foam letters and spell it too. She still does great with her alphabet and now can count to 20. She knows all of her colors, shapes and letters. Elia loves to sing, dance and perform for us. She really is a talented little girl. She loves to pretend cook and is always making mommy and daddy something to eat. Elia loves to dress up and really is into playing shopping. She will push around her shopping cart and fill it up. Then she has a cash register and you have to scan everything. She really has quite the imagination when she is playing. She still loves to read books and color. Elia will even "read" books on her own from memory. She also is getting pretty good at coloring when she takes her time. Elia really is growing up quickly. She is so excited to be a big sister too. She will read to my belly, sing to it and even gives it kisses. I have been trying to get her to feel the baby but she is too impatient to keep her hand on my belly long enough. She will set it on there and say, "I feel the baby kicking mommy". But the baby will not be moving at that time. Oh well, hopefully soon.

We are still loving the outdoors. A couple weekends ago our neighborhood had garage sales and we found a battery operated Barbie Jeep for Elia. She LOVES to ride it but still needs some practice steering. :) I think she could spend a whole day in her jeep. Elia also likes to play with her lawn mower, car and bikes. We put up her little pool this past weekend and she was so excited. She loves to splash around in it. She actually just finished up swimming lessons on Saturday. She did so much better this time around and actually talks about all of her skills she learned. She even jumped off of the diving board. She has been promoted again to the next class and we are hoping this time she will do a little better. I think she seems a little more comfortable in the water. We will see what happens when we sign her up again. We have been playing with more friends now that it is summer time. It is so nice to see her with the other kids. It is so cute some of the things they do. We are hoping to play with more friends as it continues to get warmer.

Elia is getting very excited for her Uncle Daryl and Heather's wedding. She is going to be the flower girl. She has been practicing walking and loves to try on her dress. She definitely is going to be a little princess for the day. Hopefully this excitement continues and she does actually walk down the aisle. It will be nice to for Elia to see all of her cousin and family. It should be a fun week with everyone.
